The Abbey

Ceremonies at Dryburgh Abbey

You may consider holding your wedding ceremony in the Dryburgh Abbey.  The Abbey sits adjacent to the Hotel and can be accessed from the Hotel grounds.  Some couples choose to have the ceremony in the Abbey’s Old Chapter House which is enclosed and well preserved.  The Abbey and its grounds add a special romantic and historic aspect to any wedding and the hotel will work closely with the staff at Historic Scotland, custodians of the Abbey, to create a truly unique experience.

A typical Abbey ceremony would see the bridal party walk from the Hotel, accompanied by a piper, through the Abbey grounds to the Old Chapter House.  After the ceremony the hotel would serve drinks and canapes or strawberries in the Abbey Grounds.
